
Recent heavy rainfall has caused floods across several areas of the Dominican Republic.
According to the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), 230 people were displaced in Santo Domingo (southern Dominican Republic), while damage has been reported to at least 45 houses and 15 aqueducts in Santo Domingo and Hato Mayor (eastern Dominican Republic). More than 140 mm of rainfall was recorded on 19 April in El Siebo City (north-eastern Dominican Republic) and in Santo Domingo.
On 21-22 April, moderate to locally heavy rainfall with thunderstorms is forecast over most of Dominican Republic.
