During the night of 25 November heavy rains centred over Italy and triggered a mudflow on the island of Ischia.

The accessibility to the island, in particular area of Casamicciola, is difficult due to the unfavourable weather condition. Search and rescue activities are ongoing.

According to the Italian Civil Protection authorities, one person was confirmed dead, four injured, 11 missing and 167 displaced.

At least 15 houses were destroyed, several roads were interrupted by the landslide, and several cars along the roads were carried into the sea.
