Wildfires continue to ravage the Villanueva de Viver Municipality in Castellón Province, near the border with Teruel Province in eastern Spain. The hot and dry wind, with gusts of over 50 km/h, has hampered firefighting efforts, making it difficult for the regional authorities to control the spread of the fire.

According to the National Security Department of Spain (DSN), more than 1,800 people have been evacuated from the Municipalities of Torralba del Pinar, Pavías, and Higueras. The authorities are working tirelessly to ensure the safety of the residents and prevent the spread of the fire.

The Copernicus Emergency Management Service was activated on March 23 to assess the damage caused by the wildfires, and two maps have been produced so far. The firefighting operations are still ongoing, and regional authorities are doing everything in their power to bring the situation under control.

However, the European Forest Fire Information System (EFFIS) warns that the fire risk over the affected area is expected to remain high to extreme on March 28-29. The situation remains critical, and the authorities are urging people to remain vigilant and follow their instructions closely.

The wildfires have caused widespread damage and devastation, and the authorities are calling on people to remain calm and cooperate with the authorities to prevent the spread of the fire. The regional authorities have assured the affected residents that they are doing everything in their power to keep them safe, and they will continue to provide updates on the situation as it develops.
