
An earthquake of 5.4 M at a depth of 10 km occurred in the Portland Parish area (northeast Jamaica) on 30 October at 15:57 UTC (10:57 local time). The epicentre was located approximately 4 km west-northwest of Hope Bay Town.
USGS PAGER estimates that more than 591,000 people were exposed to strong shaking and up to 12,000 people to very strong shaking.
According to media, there are no immediate reports of any casualties or damage but the seismic event was felt across most parts of the country.
