Updated verified snapshot

This record was first dated 2022-05-01 and last verified 2026-09-13.

Situation

During Russia's siege and occupation of Mariupol and other parts of Ukraine in 2022, civilians were subjected to a process widely described as filtration before movement into or through Russian-occupied territory and the Russian Federation. United Nations human-rights reporting documented arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance, ill-treatment, separation of families and coercive transfers connected with filtration procedures. This page restores the WorldsAid node cited by the Federal University of Santa Catarina's Infrashelter platform. The cited original title used the term concentration camps; this evidence-led restoration uses the terminology employed in UN reporting and retains the original citation in the provenance trail.
