Situation

Heavy rainfall has caused flooding across 10 Cambodian provinces since early September; reporting also notes peripheral influence from Typhoon Surigae, without evidence of a direct cyclone landfall. As of 27 September, an NCDM-attributed assessment reported 44,889 families affected, 3,685 families evacuated, 40,384 houses affected and 49,925 hectares of rice fields affected.

Agence Kampuchea Presse separately reported on 28 September that about 44,800 families were affected and around 3,600 families evacuated. These are separate attributed observations with slightly different rounded counts; they are not combined. Family counts are not converted into people, and the cited reports do not establish a casualty total.

WorldsAid verification

A WorldsAid editor reviewed this record against 2 attributed sources, cleaned feed formatting and checked the crisis, place and reporting date. 8 human-impact figures were separated from the narrative and dated where the source allowed. Earlier observations remain in the evidence history instead of being silently overwritten.
