We promote the importance of human rights to ALL people whom are in need of support as a consequence of natural or man made disasters and/or emergencies. We see ourselves as an agent or knowledge monitoring platform, relaying the world's needs in humanitarian crisis via our online notification systems. This in turn will pool together NGO's, suppliers and the general public to ensure the development and deployment of innovative procurement solutions. Our Focus: WordsAid.com tracks emerging crisis and continues to monitor, through the use of geolocation data and verified reputable aggregated news feeds. Our primary goal is to unify ALL need within a transparent, efficient system of collaboration. Our Aims: Provide better information on humanitarian assistance and crisis needs through an open, inclusive portal for the public, NGO's and suppliers to improve decision-making, efficiency and accountability. We aim to provide a window for the public and governments to account for supplied funds to agencies managing crises on the ground. Our Principles: Enable access to a shared evidence base on resources to meet the needs of people affected by humanitarian crises. We believe that decision-making should be informed by evidence and that reliable information is fundamental for improved accountability and effectiveness. Why is WorldsAid important? During the aftermath of any major sudden-onset disasters, the affected country and a vast number of international NGO's assimilate and analyse information in order to plan an informed pathway in supplying support . During the initial planning phase, there is usually little or no information exchange between international responders. Decisions are often based on patchy information, inaccurate sources or assumptions. The planned or mobilised assistance of other organisations is rarely drawn into consideration. This often results in duplication, gaps, overlap or even inappropriate response, occasionally associated with high costs.
